In collaboration with Artist in Residence Tamara Abdul Hadi, atelier retailles invites you to meet the artist and discover her practice while making a zine from a photograph from your personal archive.
Tamara Abdul Hadi is an Iraqi photographer and educator whose visual art and interdisciplinary research aims to advance decolonial and anti-colonial imaginaries. She engages photography and printed matter to tell stories about land, labor, and human connection. Her work has been published in the mainstream media extensively, though she now prefers to work for more independent entities. Her photographs have been exhibited worldwide. She often collaborates with Roï Saade, her partner in life and vision. Abdul Hadi's debut monograph Picture an Arab Man was published in 2022.
In this experiential artistic workshop, participants are invited to bring a photograph from their personal or family archive and explore it through prompts to make a simple bound book around the themes of memory, home and belonging.
Workshop in English - no prior experience needed - all materials included
Final sales. No refund or change of date.
