What a dream come true: we are heading to Nova Scotia! I will be visiting for the Petite Queer Pride this summer and I am happy to meet the local community and host a papermaking workshop at the lovely West Dublin Hall on Monday June 29th, right before the PQP Art Build that starts at 3:00.
In this 2.5 hours workshop, participants will (re)discover the basic steps of hand papermaking with DIY (aka accessible at home!) methods and equipments.
Making pulp 101: what to use, how to process it, pique your curiosity about papermaking with garden plants and recycled materials.
Sheet formation with simple DIY set up: use what you already have to make your own tools and make sheets with these simple (pro) tips and tricks!
Pulp painting and stenciling to create images and motifs right into your fresh sheets
Inclusions: everything goes! Can you imbed secrets into paper? Well yes of course!
Pressing and drying tricks: no need for fancy equipments, learn how to make paper with a great finish to it.
Come make paper with me at the West Dublin Hall on this once in a lifetime (so far!) visit to the Coast of Nova Scotia! Nothing creates connections like fiber and water, and nowhere is best suited to do that than by the side of the ocean…
PLEASE NOTE: due to me leaving Montreal on June 24th, I need to plan materials ahead for this workshop. We require a minimum of 8 participants to host this workshop. If unfortunately not enough people sign up before June 24th, the workshop will be cancelled and participants refunded in full. Thank you for understanding! Looking forward to make paper with you!
